Silver Coin Ring - 90% Silver - Hammered Finish
This listing is for one handmade ring, made from a 90% silver quarter or half-dollar coin (dated 1964 and before) with a HAMMERED finish (if you would like a “POLISHED” finish, please see other listing). After the year 1964, silver was removed from coins, meaning the quarters/half-dollars dated 1964 and before are made from 90% silver. This listing is for the “hammered” finish, meaning the ring is not polished to look shiny/smooth, it is left rustic and with the hammer marks visible.
SIZING:
Quarter: sizes up to 8.5
Half-dollar: sizes 9 and up
*Based off American sizes. Full AND half sizes available.
*The quarters and half-dollar rings are different prices based on the different sizes/prices of the coin (half-dollars are more expensive that quarters as they are bigger coins).
If you look closely in the photos, you can see the inside of the ring will read the original markings on the coin, i.e. "Liberty", "United States of America", and the date of the coin.
These rings are MADE TO ORDER based on the size you order. Please note it will take a week (7 days) at the most from the time of ordering, to the time of shipment.
Creation:
The sides/perimeter of the coin are slowly hammered until the edge widens, creating the ring band. I then drill a hole through the middle of the coin and file it down to the appropriate size. Don’t forget to watch the creation video!!
When you first get your ring, you will notice it may feel a little rough. Your ring will smooth overtime. I made one of these rings for myself in 2013, and wear it everyday.
-It is very smooth
-The ring does not turn my finger green (due to being 90% silver)
-You can still see the original quarter markings on the inside of the ring!
